Off Campus Voting Information

Step 1: Registering to Vote

Students who are not registered to vote and would like to vote using their home resident address can register to vote online at mi.gov/vote with a valid Michigan driver’s license or state ID card.

Not sure if you’re registered? Check your status on the NASS website!

Step 2: Requesting an Absentee ballot

Now that you are registered to vote, you can request an absentee ballot from your home state. Learn more about how to vote absentee in any state at https://www.usa.gov/absentee-voting.

*Please note that if you are returning your absentee ballot by mail you should send it with enough time for it to be received by the deadline. We recommend placing your absentee ballot in the mail two weeks before Election Day. If you are returning your ballot by placing it in a drop box, be sure to use only the drop box provided by your clerk. This means that students voting in a different state cannot place their ballots in a drop box on campus.*
